Jody continued his education by attending law school at the University of Houston (UH). While at UH, he was elected to serve as president of the Student Bar Association, was selected to represent the law school at numerous national trial competitions, was honored as the champion and best speaker in the Hippard Mock Trial Tournament where he earned membership in Order of the Barristers and was also elected to serve as his class captain. A member of the State Bar of Texas, Jody is admitted to practice before the State Courts in Texas and the United States District Courts in the Northern, Eastern, Western and Southern Districts of Texas.

Prior to moving to the Rio Grande Valley, Jody served on the Professionalism Committee, Lawyers and Children Committee, Speakers Bureau Committee, Settlement Week Committee, and Fee Dispute Committee of the Houston and Travis County (Austin) Bar Associations. He formally served on the Board of Directors of Handle with Care, a non-profit corporation that assists medically fragile orphans. He has also served on a Board of Directors with San Antonio billionaire Red McCombs, namesake of the University of Texas' McCombs School of Business.

As an experienced trial lawyer, Jody has the ability and confidence to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of a client's case early in the litigation process. During his years of legal experience, he has gained valuable insight and knowledge into how plaintiffs, defendants, companies and insurers approach employment, business and personal injury lawsuits. Jody and his wife, Jennifer, live in Mission, Texas with their 3 year old son, Noah.
