Michael K. (Mike) Burke was born in Louisville, Kentucky. An Army brat, Mike grew up living in many different places across the country and abroad before settling in the great State of Texas. Mike graduated from Texas A&M University in 1992 with a degree in Political Science. After four years in the work force, Mike returned to school and earned his law degree from the University of Houston Law Center in 1999. Mike has been member of the State Bar of Texas and admitted to practice before the state courts in Texas since November of 1999. In addition, Mike is admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Southern, Northern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas, the Southern District of New York, the Central District of Illinois and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mike was licensed by the State of New York in 2006.

Mike moved to the Rio Grande Valley in late 2010 after practicing law in Houston for eleven years. Mike has focused his practice on employment law issues including wage and hour, wrongful termination, non-compete, employment discrimination, benefits and contract disputes. In particular, Mike has developed considerable experience in minimum wage and overtime suits including many regional and national collective actions involving hundreds and even thousands of plaintiffs. Mike successfully represented clients in federal and state court and has also helped author numerous Continuing Legal Education articles on the subject of wage and hour litigation.
